A design only went into production once it came through all of these. If it didn't, it went back.

120,000 continuous steps
Our prototype's deck took 120,000 steps in a row at its max user weight. The deck and belt are usually where a home treadmill wears out first, so that's where we pushed hardest.

500 hours at full speed
Its motor then ran flat out for 500 hours straight. That's a far harder life than any treadmill gets at home.

Salt spray for rust
Sweat is salt and water. The chamber puts years of it through the frame in days, so rust shows up in testing, not in your home.

Dropped and shaken in its box
The delivery truck is the roughest ride a treadmill ever gets. So the carton is burst-tested, dropped on every corner, then run on a vibration table with a machine inside.

Every treadmill is tested by hand before it's packed.
Not a sample. Every one is fully assembled, switched on and run by a person.
4 electrical safety checks
The earth connection, the insulation at a voltage far above what it will ever see, the insulation resistance and the leakage current. Every treadmill, before anyone stands on it.
Every speed, every button
A person runs the screen, buttons, motor, belt and rollers through every speed. If a part fails a check, it is replaced in the factory before the treadmill is packed.
Ready to run when it arrives
The belt is tensioned, aligned and lubricated by hand before packing. One less job for you on day one.
Then we open the boxes and test them again.
Finished treadmills are pulled from their boxes at random and tested all over again. If one fails, the whole shipment is re-tested, and none of it ships until we're happy with every one.
It's the check on the check. We put a 10-year warranty on every frame, so we want to know what it can take before you do.
